One of my "lily series" paintings, inspired by my visit to the lily fields in western Washington. The painting received a Juror's Award of Merit at the Northwest Watercolor's Waterworks 2008 Exhibition.

Cherry blossoms, spring time, looking forward, sunny days, blue skies, warm weather, winter's end – my favourite time of the year!

I have painted the image of the sunflower many times during my years as an artist. I found this one at a market in Revel, France.

I discovered this beautiful rose in the world famous Butchart Gardens, located in Victoria, British Columbia. The subtle variations of colour and value in this white bloom are what inspired me to paint this image.

For me, life is a combination of sunshine and shadows. I was intrigued by the prominent angular shadows shapes in this composition.

This exotic blossom is a treasure I found while vacationing in Maui. I love the "colourful whites" and the strong shadow shapes and hues.

The Western Red Cedar, referred to as the “tree of life”, is British Columbia’s official tree. Rich in history, the Coastal First Nations peoples used the cedar tree extensively, primarily for their great dugout canoes, their famous totem masterpieces, and their large longhouses. Even after falling, the cedar remains a part of the forest, providing hundreds of years of shelter and nourishment for animals and the new generation of trees.

This scene is from the famous lily pond in Giverny, France, where Claude Monet lived and painted. My visit there was one of my life’s artistic highlights.

I found this luminous yellow and white rose in the garden of Kurt and Lois. We share many sweet memories from our lifetime friendship.
